Not all famous films are good, yet not all good films are famous. One film that is brilliant, yet not famous, is Underground. It is a Bosnian film (obviously you can see it with titles ), about a group of poor Bosnian families who hid in a cellar to escape the Second World War. Yet, 20 years later, one of them got out, pretending to be fighting in the war, although it finished a long time ago. Yet he still keeps his friends in that cellar. Making weapons, they are oblivious that he is just using them to earn money. There is also a love triangle between that cunning little git, a beautiful actress and her former fiance, whom she still has feelings for. See what happens at the end... but I must warn you, it won't be too happy.

Lantana. Amazing film that uses no special effects, a small budget and depends entirely on the plot and characters. And boy are they good. It's Australian, so you might need to turn te subtitles on

Sounds intriguing.
Yesterday, I and 14 other people from my Spanish GCSE group, supervised by 2 teachers, went to the Filmworx to see the incredible Motorcycle Diaries. It's the film about a young Che Guevara who embarks upon a motorcycle road trip with his best friend. It's amazing - the South American landscape is incredibly beautiful, and so are the insights to different cultures. It really portrays the injustice between the people... Che says the trip has changed him. It would have changed me, too.

Indeed, Motorcycle Diaries is a fantastic film. The star, Gael Garcia Bernal, is going to be huge... He's been in Y Tu Mama Tambien, Amores Perros and La Mala Educacion, by the fantastic Amaldovar...
Motorcycle Diaries should see his breakthrough into Hollywood at last. He's been cast to play Elvis in a film called The King. We'll see how that goes for him...

And, I have to admit, all the girls were extatic because of his impressive physique... I hate to say it, but... he's cute...

The Motorcycle Diaries isn't very unfamous, I'd heard of it before you went to see it. I saw an Australian film called Picnic at Hanging Rock when I was in Brittany (with French subtitles) that I really liked. It's set at the beginning of the twentieth century at a girls' boarding school in Australia. The girls go for a picnic and three of the girls and one of the teachers go missing. One of the girls is found, but you never find out what's happened to the others, just get lots of weird hints. It's overall a pretty weird film actually, but I thought it was really well done.

That's one of Peter Weir's early films... He's the guy behind films like Dead Poet's Society, The Truman Show and the godawful Master and Commander.
He also did witness, which I remember watching in R.E... I think I enjoyed it.

The Crow is quite a popular film, I know both myself and Leader are fans... None of the sequels are worth seeing really, although if you really must City Of Angels is probably the best of the bunch... It retains a little of the atmospherics that made The Crow such a good film... Unfortunately, the characters and plot are piss poor, but a sequel is always cursed from the off.
[EDIT: Not seen salvation, but Kirsten Dunst would put me off seeing it... I really should check it out]
